About the studio

Founded on Aurakatu

Care Collective Bath opened in 2019 when interior stylist Elina Korhonen and spatial planner Markus Lehtinen combined their apartment-focused practices. Elina had spent six years specifying wet-room finishes for Turku renovation firms; Markus mapped storage for family flats from Port Arthur to Kupittaa.

They chose Aurakatu for its walkable distance to the river and to clients across the city centre grid. The studio remains a styling office — we do not install fixtures, sell tiles, or offer wellness treatments.

Questions clients ask

Do you work with taloyhtiö boards on bathroom alterations?

Yes. We prepare layout sketches that show wet-zone boundaries, ventilation paths, and any structural implications before you submit to your housing company. Many Port Arthur buildings require moisture-barrier documentation; we include material specs your board can review.

We do not attend board meetings but can supply a one-page summary in Finnish or English on request.

Can you style a bathroom without a full renovation?

Often. Refresh commissions swap mirrors, lighting, textiles, and open shelving while keeping existing tile and plumbing in place. We measure what can change in a weekend versus what needs a licensed fitter.

Typical refresh budgets in Turku run from €890 to €2,400 for styling direction and procurement lists, excluding product purchase.

How do you handle hard Turku tap water in material choices?

We favour matte and satin finishes that hide mineral spotting better than high-gloss subway tile. Brassware with easy-clean coatings and darker grout lines in shower zones reduce visible limescale between weekly wipes.

Clients near the Aurajoki sometimes notice faster buildup on river-facing ventilation; we note extractor placement in every styling sheet.

What size households do you typically plan for?

Most commissions serve families of three to five in 4–8 m² bathrooms, though we also style ensuite layouts for couples downsizing from detached homes in Rauma or Naantali who relocate to Turku flats.

Dual-sink vanities, step stools, and height-adjusted mirror zones appear frequently in our family-bath briefs.

Do you travel outside Turku city limits?

Site visits within Turku and Kaarina are included in consultation fees. Commissions in Raisio, Naantali, or Lieto incur a travel supplement of €45–€80 depending on distance.

Remote styling via video walk-through is available for secondary bathrooms when only palette and fixture direction is needed.

Team today

Four stylists and one procurement coordinator work from the Aurakatu studio. Elina leads family-bath layouts; Markus handles vanity joinery sketches; junior stylist Sanna Niemi focuses on tile palettes for heritage apartments near the cathedral quarter.

Values we keep

We document every recommendation so contractors receive clear dimensions, not vague mood boards. We decline projects that require us to specify medical equipment or accessibility devices beyond standard grab-rail placement in styling context.
